Mulch
Mulch is a decorative and protective cover placed over soil to conserve moisture, inhibit weed growth and to lessen damage to plants caused by extreme temperatures. Typically, mulch is applied in a two to three inch layer. Natural mulches decompose over time and become part of the organic matter, similar to compost in soil.
Application Considerations: When laying out mulch, avoid laying out in wet or moist conditions, especially dyed colored mulches. Our black, brown, and red colored mulches should be applied to garden beds only when rain is not expected for 24-48 hours.
