St. Louis Composting Continues to Grow by Acquiring Organic Resource Management Inc. (ORMI)

Area’s Leading Composter Grows Geographic Footprint

(VALLEY PARK, MO.) – St. Louis Composting, Inc., the region’s largest producer of STA-certified compost, mulch products and soil blends, has acquired Organic Resource Management, Inc. (ORMI), a large-scale, commercial composting facility located at 13060 County Park Road in unincorporated north St. Louis County. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The purchase will help St. Louis Composting continue its growth as the largest compost producer in the region. “Now that we have a physical presence in North St. Louis County, we can more efficiently provide products and services to our regional customer base,” said Patrick Geraty president of St. Louis Composting. “The acquisition will generate greater operational efficiencies, significantly increase our production and allow us to provide customers with additional compost, mulch and soil blend resources.”

For now, ORMI will continue to operate under its original name with a subtitle depicting it as a St. Louis Composting company. “The companies will gradually integrate in coming months as we continue to provide the same high quality products and services that our customers and ORMI’s customers expect and deserve,” stated Geraty.

Geraty and his wife, Rebecca Geraty, teamed to negotiate the acquisition with Jim and Kim Wolterman, who co-founded ORMI in 1992. “In the current marketplace, it just makes sense to combine the resources of ORMI and St. Louis Composting,” explained Jim Wolterman. “The sale will allow me to focus exclusively on SWT Design, a landscape architecture and urban design firm that I co-founded 16 years ago.”

St. Louis Composting (www.stlcompost.com) operates the largest composting facility in Missouri and is the largest composter in metro St. Louis. It is headquartered at a 26-acre facility in Valley Park, Mo. and maintains 6 other locations in the metro area. It also operates a two locations in Kansas City, Missouri.
